Clarification of Lifetime Upgrades

IT DOES MEAN.....
....well it simply means for as long as we are actively developing a product, we shall continue to provide customers who have purchased earlier versions of that exact product version with all updates free of charge.
IT DOES NOT MEAN..... .
....That for the rest of our existence we will make all our Joomla components compatible with all future Joomla version no matter what Joomla looks like and no matter what kind of work is involved! That would be plain stupid! Those people who thought this is what it meant, we are sorry for - cause you obviously didn't understand.
You are entitled to updates of your exact version purchased and if there is a major version change (RE: Joomla 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, etc there will be an upgrade cost of 50% to upgrade to the new major version.
In plain English this means that Joomla 1.5 is a single major version, Joomla 1.6/1.7/2.5 is the same seriesa separate major version. So if you purchased the Joomla 1.5 version then you will get free updates for the Joomla 1.5 version of the software you purchased. If you purchased the Joomla 1.5 version previously and wish to use a new version that is compatible with Joomla 1.6 then existing customers will get a 50% discount to upgrade to the next major version which would be 1.6.
As a Joomla extension provider we know our software will need to be rewritten to work with future Joomla versions. Also as our portfolio of new software products and new customers grow we have less and less time to support and update older software titles (when features that they build upon within Joomla are even removed from Joomla core!!).
In every industry, in every business things are withdrawn. Unfortunately things move so fast in Joomla-land that the life cycle is so short.
We hope this clarifies any questions regarding updates and upgrades.
