| Thanks!! Im a daily visitor of Joomla Show ROom and this tools are very interesting, i hope you develop more components for LMS soon!! Thanks Maribel |
| I'd like to suggest that your organization, or a friend / affiliate / networked individual, create video tutorials explaining what the MVC is, why it is used, how it can be implemented to increase efficiency; as well as, some video tuts on the Joomla Framework, how to access DBO's with the JFramework, what Classes are and how you can use them, etc. As a budding PHP programmer with an intense passion for Joomla!, I'd love to find some valuable resources on creating feature-rich, user-friendly extensions. However, I understand this is an expansive topic and it all comes down to what the developer is looking to accomplish, but for any novice programmer who isn't familiar with MVC, OOP and all of the modern jargon, it's quite a hurdle to start developing quality components. I've built several scripts in PHP only to become incredibly frustrated when I couldn't convert them over to the JFramework seamlessly. In fact, the only J! extensions I've built can't even be distributed because they are simply PHP scripts that include '_JEXEC' or die. Other than that, they are simply PHP applications. It would be friggin awesome if someone would create some quality video tutorials on this subject! Personally, I'm an auditory / visual learner and books don't really do the trick when I'm starting to learn a new concept; however, they make for great reference materials once I understand what is going on... So, yeah, if you or someone you know would be interested in doing this (even if it's just taking the book, "Joomla Framework: Custom Extension Development" and, essentially, creating a video version... That'd be a true blessing and I'd love you to death for it! : D If you, or anyone else for that matter, is interested in doing something like this... E-mail me using the link attached to my Name. Thank you for your time, assistance, understanding and willingness to help out the Community. Sincerely, Dro Buddy |
